About Us
Our Mission
At Everyday Dogs, our mission is to develop calm, dependable dogs through structure, consistency, and real-world training. We focus on building strong foundations from the start, guiding dogs through each stage of development with clear communication so they can function confidently in the home and in everyday environments.
Why Choose Us
We stand out in dog training by emphasizing long-term success over quick fixes. Our approach combines clear communication with practical skills, resulting in dogs that are not only obedient but also happy and well-adjusted family members.
Our Values
At Everyday Dogs, we prioritize the relationship between owners and their dogs. Our training practices are designed to empower owners with the tools and understanding needed to maintain their dog's progress well beyond the program.
Training Tools & Methodology
Every dog in the Everyday Dogs program is trained using clear communication tools that help create consistency, structure, and understanding.
The primary tool used in most cases is an e-collar (electronic training collar). When properly introduced and conditioned, the e-collar is used as a form of communication—similar to a light tactile cue—allowing clear guidance once the dog understands how to respond to it.
This tool is not used as punishment. It is used as a communication tool that helps the dog understand expectations more clearly when trained properly.
E-collar training is a standard part of the program and is used when appropriate for the dog’s temperament, learning style, and behavior. However, it is not the only tool used.
Depending on the dog, other tools may include:
-
Prong collar (for structured leash
-
communication and pressure guidance)
-
Slip lead (for calm handling and controlled transitions)
-
Leash and body positioning techniques
Tools are never used in isolation—they are paired with timing, clarity, and proper conditioning so the dog understands what is being asked.
In some rare cases, a dog may not require an e-collar. If I feel a dog will progress better without it, that decision will always be discussed with the owner and adjusted accordingly.
All tools used in the program are selected based on what will communicate most clearly with the individual dog. When introduced and used correctly, these tools are designed to reduce confusion and create clarity in learning.
The goal of Everyday Dogs is not to rely on equipment, but to build understanding, structure, and reliable behavior in real-world environments.
All tools required for your pup will be included in pricing you pay for the board and train.
